An individual (or organisation) has the right to contact the Information Commissioner's Office if they feel they have been denied access to personal information which they are either entitled to, or feel that the information has not been handled according to the eight principles of the Data Protection Act.

For Business Customers
Whilst the Data Protection Act does not specifically apply to companies it will apply to sole traders and partnerships.  Therefore any application from a business may require a search with a Credit Reference Agency on the individual directors or partners within a business.

How is your personal information used?
At OCS Ltd, any data will be held on our systems for the duration of the business relationship, this is in line with the Data Protection Act. We will also be mindful of other regulatory body rules such as The National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB)

The information will not be used for identification purposes and will not be transferred outside the EEA.

We will not provide any information about you to any other company or organisation to use for marketing purposes.

We will use your information to endeavour to obtain an offer of finance for you from a reputable lender.  In order to do so, we will disclose such information as is necessary to negotiate terms with a funding source, with employees of this business, any guarantor required by the funder, any person or organisation necessary to comply with any legal or regulatory requirements to which we may be subject, and anyone else whom may specifically authorise in writing.

As part of the application process, lenders may take, searches from the Credit Reference Agency or search public records such as the Electoral Roll to help verify your identity.  A search may also be made of credit and fraud prevention agency records.
